The violinist Ivars Brīnums began his studies in the Emīls Dārziņš Music School. Later he studied under Dace Bērzāja, Uldis Sprūdžs and Juris Švolokovskis in Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, where he obtained a Professional Master’s degree in 2008. He has participated in many project orchestras abroad, including International Bachakademie Stuttgart, ERASMUS Chamber Orchestra in 2003, Nordic Symphony Orchestra and other projects in Latvia and abroad.
Ivars Brīnums has been working in the Chamber Orchestra Sinfonietta Rīga since its founding in 2006. In a new role, the musician has been working in the orchestra since 2019, replacing the violin with a viola.
Ivars Brīnums is an active chamber musician and plays in the quartet Fantastic Four, as well as the ensemble he himself founded – Ivars Brīnums Trio.
