OPEN LETTER. FOR NATIONAL CONCERT HALL IN RIGA.

Pēc gadu desmitiem ilgušām diskusijām 16. jūnijā Ministru kabinets pieņēma vēsturisku lēmumu par Nacionālās koncertzāles celtniecību valstij piederošā zemesgabalā Elizabetes ielā 2. Kuplinot projekta atbalstītāju loku, Sinfonietta Rīga publicē atklātu vēstuli vēsturiskajam lēmumam.

SINFONIETTA RĪGA STREAM LIVE FROM DZINTARI CONCERT HALL

After a two-months hiatus, on 29 May at 8 pm EEST, conductor Normmunds Šnē and his chamber orchestra  Sinfonietta Rīga will again meet with their listeners - this time, streamed live from  Dzintari Concert Hall. The concert programme includes diverse soundscapes and conversations. First, the splendid Symphony in D major by the master of the corteous era Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, followed by a look at the "quiet season" through the eyes of contemporary Finnish composer Magnus Lindberg and his rarely performed opus Aventures. The programme will be topped off with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's legendary Clarinet Concerto.

NEW RECORD OUT NOW!

On April 3, the Swedish record label BIS Records released newest record album by Sinfonietta Riga and is dedicated to the most prominent latvian composer Peteris Vasks. “Vasks - Viola Concerto &‘ Voices ’” is the latest collaboration between Sinfonietta Rīga and the Ukrainian born violist Maksim Risanov. The CD includes two large-scale orchestral pieces by Vasks - Concerto for Viola and Orchestra, as well as one of the most famous composer’s works - First Symphony for string orchestra "Voices".

Orchestra

Since the foundation of the orchestra in 2006, Normunds Šnē is its Artistic Director and Chief Conductor. The musicians of Sinfonietta Rīga are young and open to creative challenge – studying the traditions of Baroque music performance and the nuances of the interpretation of Classical music; they are brilliant performers of the contemporary music.
