In Olari Elts's interpretations, precise gestures are combined with spontaneous energy. However, his special trump card in program creation lies in his ability to connect seemingly unrelated musical planets. He highlights their distinct characteristics while revealing mutually surprising coordinates. In these unique sonic explorations, Elts has his key companions, including the musicians of Sinfonietta Rīga. In the Great Hall of the University of Latvia, the conductor promises to conjure up a program rooted in Italian musical traditions and enriched with dance rhythms developed in Paris. He has juxtaposed the sound vignettes of Igor Stravinsky's ballet “Pulcinella” with Franz Schubert's "Overture in the Italian Style", inspired by Gioachino Rossini's operatic masterpieces. Inspired by commedia dell'arte and the sound art of the Italian Baroque, this score also resonates with the "Baroque Song" in praise of Johann Sebastian Bach's chorale preludes by the organist of the Notre-Dame de Paris, Thierry Escaich, and Maurice Ravel's suite from the ballet “Ma mère l'Oye” .
