From March 16 to 22, the 11th International Karl Davidov Cello Competition will take place in Kuldīga and Riga - master classes and several cello concerts. Cello music lovers will have the opportunity not only to enjoy the performances of young and promising cellists from all over the world, but also to attend cello concerts.

On March 22, the closing concert of the Karl Davidov Cello Competition will be held at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. It will be an opportunity to hear the laureates of the competition and the State Chamber Orchestra “Sinfonietta Rīga” conducted by Normunds Šnē.

The concert program will feature works by L. Boccherini, J. Haydn, K. Davidov, D. Shostakovich, C. Saint-Saëns, P. Tchaikovsky, J. Ivanovs and R. Schumann, which the laureates performed in the last round of the competition.

The exact concert program and soloists will be known after the final rounds of the competition.
