Two inauguration concerts in Liepāja and Rīga mark a new beginning for Sinfonietta Rīga - the outstanding composer, clarinetist and conductor Jörg Widmann becoming our artistic partner for the next three years. 

The concert programme was dedicated to the music of Mendelssohn and Widmann himself. The program was enriched by the performance of the wonderful Latvian soprano Inga Kalna. 

This year Jörg Widmann will return to Latvia a couple of times as a conductor, chamber musician and soloist. His artistic ideas will be presented at the art center Zuzeum organised "Summer night chamber music" concerts and he will return in november with a special program dedicated to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
