Sinfonietta Rīga and Florian Donderer in "Murten classics" festival

 

On August 29 and 30, the Sinfonietta Riga orchestra went to the mountainous Swiss town of Murten to participate in two concert nights of the Murten classics festival. With the musicians of the orchestra, the talented German violinist Florian Donderer took to the concert stage as a conductor and soloist, playing Mozart's fifth violin concerto, Haydn's 94th symphony, as well as the minuets of the Dutch classical writer and composer Isabella de Charrier.

 

The Murten classics summer festival has been taking place in Switzerland, Murten and its surroundings since 1989. Around 30 concerts relevant to every generation of music lovers were held over the course of 3 weeks. Every year, the artistic director of the festival, Christoph-Mathias Mueller, chooses a special theme that unites all the concerts, and this year's motto was "freude", German. joy.
