On December 16, the 2024 laureates of the "Excellence Award in Culture" were welcomed for the eleventh time at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, and the State Chamber Orchestra "Sinfonietta Rīga" was also among the award winners!

The State Chamber Orchestra "Sinfonietta Rīga" has been awarded the Cultural Excellence Award for brilliant and professionally high-quality artistic activity in the most important concert halls of Latvia and Europe, implementing bright concert programs, promoting the recognition of Latvian and Baltic music in the world with its performance and creating new musical art values ​​in the cultural life of Latvia.

This is a particularly honorable assessment not only for the persistent work and passion of each orchestra musician and conductor Normunds Šnē, but also for all the brilliant soloists and guest conductors, whose ideas, talents and energy the orchestra has had the opportunity to share with each other throughout the year.

The Excellence Award in Culture was established in 2014, and its purpose is to express the appreciation of the Latvian state for outstanding international achievements in culture that have made a significant contribution to popularizing Latvian cultural values, promoted a positive image of Latvia, raised Latvia's prestige in the world and cultural value in Latvian society.
